Thanks to Guilford County Schools for sharing their science students in action! In lesson 10 of the STC™ Organisms Unit, students are introduced to a second woodland animal, the Bess Beetle. Students observe the Bess Bug in the same environment as the pill bug.

* Students observe, draw, and describe Bess beetles or millipedes.

* Students share their observations of the Bess beetle or millipede.

* Students use a Venn Diagram to discuss the ways the pill bug and Bess beetle or millipede are similar and the ways they are different.
