Vermicomposting: Setting up a worm bin with Vermi the worm

15th March, 2011 - Posted by Sammie Gann - 2 Comments

The first step in Vermicomposting is setting up your worm bin.  Interact with Vermi the worm to see how a worm bin is set up and play some interactive activities along the way.

To all of our teachers who set up worm bins with your students,  how did you set up your worm bin in your classroom? What works best? Is their anything that we should avoid or look out for? Share your experiences using the reply box below.

This is so neat. The worm under the shovel never shows up. Also, how do you get to the tool shed at the end?

Pam,

The tool shed is number four in the series and will be posted today. In the tool shed, the students will create a virtual worm box and use their math skills along the way. The shovel feature did not want to work in the computer file. Sorry about that. There are two more posts in the series: The toolshed and the garden. Are your students enjoying the games and activities?
